This modern vacation home is the closest rental you’ll find to Sylvan Lake! It overlooks untouched National Forest Service land, near the Custer State Park border, with easily navigated paved roads. Across the street is a bison and Lorn Horn cattle ranch, which can often been seen from the kitchen window.
You’re able to use the entire home, outside propane fireplace, covered porch, large 2-car garage, and forest service backyard. It’s just 3 miles to Sylvan Lake and close to many other destinations – an ideal Black Hills home base!
The home does not have air conditioning but generally stays comfortable. Locals enjoy the cool Custer nights with an average low in July of 54 °F. The house has concrete floors throughout which keep the house cool in summer. Open the windows at night to allow the house to cool and shut them during the day. All should be well!
WIFI – the home has WiFi but it is not perfect. It allows for streaming movies or scrolling online but can go out without notice. Resetting the router located in the garage utility room can help.
